Software Developer

The Position:

This challenging position offers the opportunity to build new skills and gain experience in a young, dynamic and growing company with either our products/R&D team or our professional services team. Your abilities and interests will strongly influence the nature of this position at Latitude Geographics.

Our software developers love computer programming. Experience is preferred; enthusiasm and curiosity are required.

Depending on ability and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Software product development, which may involve research and analysis, product design, coding, bug verification, release testing, and beta support
  • Designing/developing customized web-GIS applications for clients
  • Developing custom viewers, databases, and technical applications to enhance the existing service offering for specific client applications
  • Some project management, delegation, and training
  • Some business analysis and technical writing
  • Some server/network administration and troubleshooting

Qualifications:

  • Awesome programming capabilities and/or potential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of many of the following software technologies: C#, .NET, JavaScript, Silverlight, MS SQL Server, Oracle, HTML5 and CSS
  • Experience with any of the following Esri technologies would be an asset but is not required: ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Online
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux-based server technologies
  • Knowledge of geography and geomatics is desirable but not required
